Executive Summary of the Project

The project focuses on promoting gender equality and youth empowerment in peacebuilding efforts by leveraging global policy frameworks such as UN Resolutions 1325 and 2250 on Women, Peace, and Security, and Youth, Peace, and Security, respectively. It aims to bridge the gap between policy-oriented academia and development practice in the areas of gender, youth, peace, and security.

The project's purpose is to facilitate knowledge transfer and capacity building among peace practitioners through the creation of a Peace Repository and interactive roundtable sessions. The Peace Repository, in the form of a book, will provide a platform for policy-oriented academic discourse, featuring contributions from scholars and practitioners worldwide on topics such as gender-responsive development and the roles of women and youth in peacebuilding. The interactive sessions will enable knowledge exchange and sharing of best practices among youth and women from conflict-prone areas.

By developing a toolkit or guidance manual for peace practitioners based on insights from the Peace Repository and the roundtable sessions, the project seeks to inform researchers, policymakers, and peace practitioners about effective strategies for addressing peace and security challenges. The ultimate goal is to foster collaboration and collective action towards sustainable peace, ensuring that interventions are conflict-sensitive and support vulnerable communities.
